Change Management 2: Redundancy/Outplacement/Recruitment
Client: Shipping Company with 80 staff
The Issue: The newly appointed MD was tasked with bringing together 3 separate businesses which had been acquired in the north, midlands and south and combining on one site and preparing the company for future growth.
Jigsaw HR approach:  

We mapped out a plan of activity with the MD and handled the redundancy arrangements for the two sites that needed to be closed, including outplacement activity for the displaced staff. A recruitment campaign was put together for the chosen site and new staff recruited to timescale as other sites were closed.
Achievements:
  1. No tribunal or legal claims or any kind against the company following the redundancy programme.
  2. Staff morale and motivation enhanced during the notice period through outplacement activity.
  3. New staff recruited.
  4. Overall reduction in overheads achieved within the timescales.
